Hi all! I did a lot of research the last few months tracking down parts to rebuild my xcarve 1000x1000 into a 1500x2000 and i came across myhobby-cnc. Awesome people and awesome parts. I ordered a 2000mm MakerSlide MAX for my machine and one for a friend of mine as well as some plates to build the carriage. I just finished building it this weekend and did a test carve and it all came out pretty nice. I get a little more flex through my 2000mm X axis than i wanted. But so far im happy and i reccomend this outfit to others and will probably buy again myself

Kannst du mir sagen wo Du das Upgrade für die Z-Achse bekommen hast und ob Du damit zufrieden bist? Da die Originale Z-Achse mit den V-Rollen nach gewisser Zeit wackeln tut. (Kugellager werden müde). Wenn ich es richtig auf den Bildern sehe, hast du statt V-Rollen Gleitlager mit Schienen. Richtig? Hattest du auch die Probeme mit dem Verwinden der X-Achse? Wenn ja, hat sich das Problem mit den neuen Makerslider gelöst? Bzw: ist es jetzt durch X und Z-achsenupgrade besser? Sorry das ich Dich mit meinen Fragen nerve, aber ich bin sehr an Deinen Upgrades und Erfahrungen interessiert, da man im deutschsprachigen Raum nicht viel über X-Carve Upgrades findet.

I bought my Z axis from cnc4newbie.com and its rock solid especially compared to the stock Z axis. It has square linear rails and block bearings along with a leadscrew to drive it. Ive had that for over a year now with no issues.
My X axis being 2000mm long does have some flex in it but it's not too horrible. I'll be looking into adding square linear rails and bearings to stiffen that up later on at some point. But right now it doesnt bother me

Yes everything is still on V wheels besides the Z axis. My next upgrade will be adding linear rails and bearings on the X and Y axis and getting rid of V wheels completely

Ich habe auch mal Kontakt zu cnc4newbie aufgenommen. Bezüglich des Upgrade der Z-Achse. Aber sie wussten nicht genau was ich wollte. Lag bestimmt an meinem grausamen Englisch. Jetzt versuche ich evtl. die Teile in Deutschland zu bekommen. Ich weiß nur noch nicht genau wo. Ich möchte ja nicht mehr auf meiner Z-Achse mit V-Rollen arbeiten. So wie das bei cnc4newbie ist, gefällt es mir sehr gut. Aber bei myhobby-cnc finde ich keine Linearführungen. Vielleicht hat jemand einen Tip wo ich so etwas bekomme. Desweiteren weiß ich nicht ob ich nach dem Z-Achsen Upgrade einen stärkeren Steppermotor brauche. Jetzt gerade habe ich Nema 23 Motoren. Allerdings weiß ich nicht wieviel Uz die haben ( oder Kraft) cnc4newbie empfiehlt Nema 23 mit 269uz. Vielleicht erkennt man es an der Baugröße. Meine Nema sind 50 mm Hoch. Desweiteren schreiben sie, das mein Arduino und mein G-shield v.5b nicht ausreichen wird zu Ansteuerung der Nemas. Sie empfehlen mir Ihren Demon- Controller. Oder den X-Controller von Inventables. Da ich auch Problem mit meinem nachgerüstetem Diodenlaser habe, komme ich bestimmt um einen besseren Controller nicht herum. Ronald? Bekomme ich den Controller oder was vergleichbares evtl. bei euch? Aaron? Auf deinen Bildern ist doch der Makerslider auf der X-Achse verbaut und wie es aussieht auch der originale x-Achsen Schlitten von X-Carve. Aber der Makerslider ist doch ca. 65 mm hoch und die Originalen Profile von X-Carve auf der x-Achse 46 mm hoch. Ist der Schlitten ein Upgrade?
Sorry für meine Fragen, aber ich bin nicht der Elektro oder Fachprofi. Ich bin nur der Macher. :-) Bei mir muss es funktionieren.

I also got in touch with cnc4newbie. Regarding the upgrade of the Z axis. But they didn't know exactly what I wanted. It was probably because of my cruel English. : biggrin: Now I'm trying to get the parts in Germany. I just don't know exactly where. I don't want to work with V-rollers on my Z-axis anymore. As it is with cnc4newbie, I like it very much. But at myhobby-cnc I don't find any linear guides. Maybe someone has a tip where I can get something. Furthermore, I don't know if I need a stronger stepper motor after the Z-axis upgrade. Right now I have Nema 23 engines. However, I do not know how much Uz they have (or strength) cnc4newbie recommends Nema 23 with 269uz. Maybe you can recognize it by the size. My nema are 50 mm high. Furthermore, they write that my Arduino and my G-shield v.5b will not be enough to control the Nemas. You recommend your Demon controller to me. Or the X controller from Inventables. Since I also have a problem with my retrofitted diode laser, I can not avoid a better controller. Ronald? Do I get the controller or something comparable with you? Aaron? In your pictures, the maker slider is installed on the X axis and, as it looks, the original X axis slide from X-Carve. But the maker slider is approx. 65 mm high and the original profiles from X-Carve on the x-axis are 46 mm high. Is the sled an upgrade?
Sorry for my questions, but I'm not an electronics or professional. I am only the doer. :-) It has to work for me.
The Z axis from cnc4newbie works just fine with the stock nema 23 stepper motor. I used it like that for a year before i put the 269oz stepper motor on it. I dont see why you couldnt use you motor and controller with the upgraded Z axis. If you are looking at the demon controller or the x controller. Go with the demon controller because you can replace parts in it if needed. Xcontroller if something fails, you have to replace the whole thing.
To install the MakerSlide MAX i designed a bracket to bolt onto the original xcarve rail plates. And i cut them out on the xcarve before disassembly. Myhobby might sell a steel plate that would match up to it all but im not sure
Dann mal kurz die Frage in die Runde. Wenn ich die Makerslider 65 mm für meine X-Carve verwende, hat myhobby-cnc da evtl eine passende Motorhalterplatte für die Y-Achse auf X-Achse für mich?
